The story of the prodigal son is one of my favorite parables. I love how Jesus provides the example of the father’s immense generosity, compassion and mercy to teach us about who God really is.
St. Therese of Lisieux once said, “Let us love our littleness, let us love to feel nothing, then we shall be poor in spirit and Jesus will come to look for us [and] he will transform us in flames of love.” To understand her words, we must understand the meaning of humility and repentance.
Saint Ignatius of Antioch: “Let everyone revere the deacons as Jesus Christ, the bishop as the image of the Father, and the presbyters as the senate of God and the assembly of the Apostles. For without them one cannot speak of the Church.”
