One point of contention between Catholics and many Protestants is the subject of Tradition. Protestants maintain that the Bible alone (sola scriptura) is the sole rule of faith; neither the authority of the Catholic Church nor the existence of Sacred Tradition should play any role in determining what Christians believe.

Security in authority: it’s not something I could find in Protestantism and sola scriptura. What is found in Protestantism, is a seductive individualism in which each person seeks out his own, personal interpretation of scripture.
C.S. Lewis put forth this argument: Jesus is either Lord, liar or a lunatic. You must decide. There is no alternative.
Because of her abortion, she had given up—on lots of things. On heaven, on living the Catholic life, on the pursuit of holiness, on the fact that God truly loves her.
The prospect of selective abortion is truly horrifying. I share this story now, having heard it from my mother over the years, for I am that “little baby.” My life could have been terminated if those advocating selective abortion had their way.
