Advent Week 2: Comfort Zones aren’t for Christians

December 4, 2018 by Lauren Heaton 1 Comment

Comfort Zones Aren't For Christians

You weren’t made to be comfortable on a couch eating chocolate. You were made to be the hands and feet of Christ extending his love to all. You were made to take risks for the love of God. Sound scary? Maybe so, but you were made for greatness.

The Story of Cain and Abel Demonstrate That God Loves a Cheerful Giver

October 16, 2018 by George Miller Leave a Comment

Jesus Feeds the 5000

Why did God look with favor on Abel’s gift and not on Cain’s? Ultimately, it was not because of what Cain offered to the Lord, it was because of Cain’s attitude toward God and the questionable intention behind his act of giving.

Pope St. John Paul II:

Jesus Christ meets the man of every age, including our own, with the same words: “You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” These words contain both a fundamental requirement and a warning: the requirement of an honest relationship with regard to truth as a condition for authentic freedom, and the warning to avoid every kind of illusory freedom, every superficial unilateral freedom, every freedom that fails to enter into the whole truth about man and the world.  (Redemptor Hominis No. 12)
