Contemporary man often sees himself as having arrived at a psychological maturity that has displaced God with the kingdom of man. In this obscurity, God becomes unnecessary. However, the existence of God is an intellectual question that demands serious treatment.
As part of a university course project I’m involved in which entails presenting the Catholic and Christian faith in the modern world, I recently took a trip down to the local university here in town and interviewed some of the students there. I interviewed eight people whose religious beliefs were quite diverse.
How spirituality devoid of the Christian religion is not in conformity with God’s plan; therefore, the “spiritual but not religious” approach is not the method God himself has instituted in order to guide humankind into Trinitarian communion.
