The Church of the Poor
Pope Francis has laid out his vision of the Church as “a field hospital after battle” that is dedicated to healing wounds. The Pope wants a Church that is welcoming to everyone and that is inclusive. He preaches mercy and openness in charity, with a vision toward salvation in Christ.
For To Him Who Has Will More Be Given
One reason Jesus speaks in parables is because, for people of faith, they reveal the mysteries of God, conveying spiritual, supernatural, and moral meaning; for those lacking faith, parables seem to be little more than children’s stories based on experience of the natural world.
Teacher, We Wish to See a Sign from You
The goal is to see with clarity. God’s grace is required for that, but also our own efforts are indispensable. In seeking eyes that see with the light of God, we must live by the light of Christ.
Fear Not
We all have turbulent times in our life where nothing seems to go right. A storm, if you will, of uncertain waves of persecution, loss, or fear labors to topple our boat. Our response to this situation should first and foremost include turning to Jesus Christ.
