Cardinal Müller has issued a “Manifesto of Faith” as a corrective against doctrinal confusion, moral relativism, indifference toward Jesus Christ and the Church he founded, and dissent from the Church’s perennial teaching on faith and morals.
Why is the belief of the Church important in the voting process? Because those Catholics and Christians whose lives are ordered by the belief of the Church bring Jesus Christ and his saving gospel into the public square. That really says it all.
Whatever the failings of the Church’s members, whether clergy or laity, the Church is indeed the plan of God as the instrument of salvation for humanity collectively.
